Greetings Hiphoppas!
It is hard to believe that this is the fifth Hip Hop in the Park festival. It seems like only a short time ago that we all got together and put on the first big show on the new stage in Louise McKinney Park. Now we are a staple festival that kicks off the season in Canada’s festival city. We are proud to put on one of Canada’s largest Hip Hop festivals right here in Edmonton... and to have been doing it for 5 years now.

Hip-Hop in the Park relies 100% on great volunteers. Run a workshop, pick-up some props, represent the community. If there’s something you can do on the day of or before, we’d love to hear from you.
Hip-Hop in the Park is quickly becoming a staple festival in Edmonton. In its two years, it has not only showcased hundreds of burgeoning Canadian artists who’ve mastered their respective hip-hop creative elements, but it’s also grown leaps and bounds itself. In 2009, the annual family event tended to over 3,000 locals of all ages, backgrounds and interests. (That’s more than four times as many people the previous year.)
To prime the attendees, the Hip-Hop in the Park Foundation, a non-profit organization, handed out 1,000 programs that educated guests on the history of International Hip-Hop Appreciation Week, the influence hip-hop has on our city and the artists whose raps, beats, graffiti art or break dances they’d experience all day. The program also featured advertisements of local businesses who sponsored the event, and helped us maintain the free initiatives organized each year by our foundation.
In 2011, we are anticipating between 1,000 to 3,000 guests at our outdoor event, held on Sat., May 21. For as little as $50 an advertisement about your business can be exposed to every one of these people. As well, it can show the hip-hop community that you are its supporter.
Sponsors can purchase black and white ads in four sizes: 1/4 page (2.5″x2″ $50), 1/2 page (5″x4″ $90) and full page (5″x8″ $170). Graphic design services are also available, but the price varies according to the clients requests.
If you are interested in this affordable, yet impacting sponsorship, please confirm your commitment by April 1, 2011. All required art and graphics, and the full payment must be delivered by April 15, 2011. A tax refundable receipt is available upon request.
