Give us a hand, volunteer

Hip-Hop in the Park is a volunteer-run event. We are currently seeking 20 to 30 individuals this year to mind the tables, confection, handle registration and information liaising and helping run workshops. The size and success of the past two years’ events have been limited only by the amount of event help needed to operate an outdoor function that thousands cherish.

We are not looking for new volunteers, however, if you have helped out in the past, we would love to have you on our team again. If you are capable of changing to a different scenarios quickly and are easy-going, then we could use your help.

Hip-Hop in the Park needs volunteers on Sat., May 22, 2010 from 10 am. to 10 p.m. Anyone able to dedicate a portion of that day to event operations will get a chance to enjoy our festival on a more intimate and personal level, as well as gain experience and get a reference letter for a future employer, if requested. Oh, and a pretty cool Hip-Hop in the Park shirt, too.

The Third Annual HHitP on May 22nd

It’s official, boys and girls: Hip Hop in the Park is returning for its third year. As always, it’s held on a Saturday during the third week of May, also known as international Hip Hop Appreciation Week. (That’s Sat., May 22nd!)

Graff artists, emcees, b-boys and DJs — you can start submitting your work here.

This year, we are doing two shows, Hip Hop in the Park and the 18+ event, Hip Hop in the Dark. All submissions must be received by March 15. Selections will be announced around the first week of April.
